From Learner to Contributor: Inside the TEN Labs Academy Playbook

Most online courses have a beginning and an end: enroll, work through the modules, get a certificate. TEN Labs Academy is built around a different shape, one closer to how we actually build companies at TEN Labs. We call it Learn, Build, Ship, Showcase, and it is the same playbook every venture in our studio goes through.

Learn: concepts through practical lessons

Every path starts with focused, module-by-module lessons, but each one is written around a specific capability you will need for the challenge ahead, not abstract theory. If a module teaches retrieval-augmented generation, it is because the capstone project will require it.

Build: apply with AI and build real-world solutions

This is where most of the actual learning happens. You are no longer following instructions. You are making decisions about architecture, data, and design, with mentors from TEN Labs available to unblock you when you get stuck.

Ship: test, iterate and ship your solution

A project that only exists on your laptop is not finished. The Ship stage is about the unglamorous but essential work of testing edge cases, fixing what breaks, and getting your solution into a state where someone other than you could actually use it.

Showcase: build your portfolio and get opportunities

The final stage is deliberately public. You present your work to mentors, add it to your portfolio, and, for the strongest projects, get the chance to see it incubated into a real product used by one of TEN Labs' ventures.

That last part is what makes the word contributor the right one instead of graduate. You are not finishing a course. You are becoming someone who has shipped something real, with the receipts to prove it.
